Biography

• Dr. XIE Bin is a professor of forensic psychiatry and clinical psychology, and the president of Shanghai Mental Health Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He is the director of Shanghai municipal Center for Mental Disease Control and Prevention (CMDC) as well. His main areas of research interest are mental health policy making and legislation, assessment and intervention of violence, and forensic psychiatric evaluation. During the last 20 years he has engaged in leading national and local mental health legislation, as well as mental health care reform. He is serving several national academic organizations such as: Chair of the Mental Health Society, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association; Vice Chairperson of the Chinese Psychiatrist Association; Chair of Supervisory Board at the Chinese Association for Mental Health; Vice Chairman of the National Steering Committee for Graduate Education in Applied Psychology; Editor-in-Chief of the journal of Psychological Communications.
