South and Southeast Asia Medical Education and Service Alliance

On 12 July 2019, South and Southeast Asia Medical Education and Service Alliance was co-established by Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and Kunming Medical University to actively integrate and serve the Belt and Road Initiative and construction of radiation center which Yunnan province faces South Asia and Southeast Asia. The Alliance promotes exchange between medical universities and institutions in China and in South and Southeast Asian countries, and builds a regional multilateral cooperation platform. It has received positive response from universities and medical institutions in relevant countries in the region. The alliance is the first regional and international cooperation platform that integrates medical education and medical and health cooperation, it will make positive contributions to promote the quality of regional higher medical education and health services.

The Alliance is a non-profit and non-government organization of medical education and medical service institutions, founded on the voluntary base by the medical education and health institutions in China and countries in South and Southeast Asia.

The Alliance is not an independent judicial person and shall not have any legal liability for each member, or for the collaboration and its results between the members.

In accordance with the constitution, laws, and policies of China and countries in South and Southeast Asia and by the principles of voluntariness, equality, cooperation and mutual benefit, the Alliance aims to develop long-term cooperation in the field of medical education, research, health service to improve the quality of medical education and service between China and countries in South and Southeast Asia, which would make great contribution to the development of global medical education and health care.
