International Training Programs under the Belt and Road Initiative

Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine has promoted actively exchanges and cooperation with Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries (regions), jointly cultivated high-level medical talents, and organized two batches of total 23 BRI international education and training programs. Two secondary schools and nine affiliated hospitals attended the programs. There are over 500 international students coming from more than 20 countries participated in the programs, including Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Egypt, Mongolia, Trinidad and Tobago. Each program gives full play to the strengths of the medical school. Based on the different needs of BRI countries, each program provides tailored international medical education and training, thus promoting medical education cooperation with BRI countries and helping build a global community of health for all.
