Research Interests

• Dr. Xu is specialized in diagnosis/treatment on fundus diseases, mainly on  diabetic retinopathy. He is director of National Clinical Research Center for Eye Diseases, director of Shanghai Visual Health Center, vice chairman of Chinese Society of Ophthalmology , head of Chinese Vitreo-Retina Society, vice chairman of National Expert Advisory Committee of Children and Adolescents Visual Health Management. He has presided over more than ten national projects and awards National Science and Technology Advancement Prize (Grand 2) in 2008.
