Research Interests

• Dr. Wang received his B.S. from China Medical University and M.D. from the SJTUSM. As a physician & scientist, he then pursued translational research at Ruijin Hospital. He is currently one co-PI of GOCY study (the Genetics of Obesity in Chinese Youngs), focusing on the genetic architecture of early-onset obesity. His team has reported novel mutations of a genetic signaling pathway (LGR4–β-catenin signaling) in patients and a line of rare functional variants in other obesity genes. In further, his team has well demonstrated the roles of RSPOs–ZNRF3/RNF3–LGR4–β-catenin in browning program and fat distribution from basic research to clinical stratification of obesity.
