Research Interests

• Microbial secondary metabolites are the main source of medicinal molecules. We develop the platform to efficiently discover novel medicinal active compounds from microorganisms by using modern spectrum technologies and genomic mining; For the valuable pharmaceutical molecules, we elucidate their biosynthetic pathways by applying molecular genetics, biochemistry and bioinformatics. In addition, from the perspective and methodology of the investigation on natural product biosynthesis, we carried out research on the relationship between intestinal bacteria and disease development and clinical treatment, including the correlation between intestinal bacteria secondary metabolites’ variations and disease progress, and the mechanism of oral drugs decomposition and modification by intestinal bacteria.
