Research Interests

• The Mou laboratory investigates the prevention and treatment of acute kidney injury and chronic kidney diseases. The ability to rapidly diagnose kidney diseases with precise targeting treatment is essential for the kidney health and human wellbeing. However, the molecular mechanisms and underlying treatment strategy are not well understood. The group uses biological approaches and cutting-edge techniques in order to reveal the pathogenesis of kidney diseases. The mechanisms underlying these investigations are then probed using a combination of biochemical techniques and nanotechnology, as well as traditional medicine. The Mou group has investigated multiple molecular sites and potential treatment strategy both on acute kidney injury and chronic renal fibrosis. Ongoing work probes the universal signal map of these molecules, which leading to further applications of targeting theranostics.
