Biography

Dr. Liu Wei is born in November 1969, and finished his bachelor education of medicine in Shanghai Second Medical University 1993, and received PhD in Gynecology and Obstetrics in Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine in 2015. Dr. Liu works at the clinic field of gynecology and obstetrics over 29 years. From 2011 to 2021, Dr. Liu takes the associate executive dean of Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Renji Hospital (Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine), and also takes the executive dean of Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Renji Hospital (South Branch). Between November 2010 to June 2012, with the event of 7th Supporting Xinjiang organized by Shanghai Government, he supported Kashgar Prefecture Second People’s Hospital as associate chief physician.

Dr. Liu Wei is the committee member of Hypertension Group in Gynecology and Obstetrics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the member of Single Port Laparoscopy Group in Gynecology and Obstetrics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the member of Gynecological Endoscopy Group in Shanghai Medical Association, the Standing Committee of “China-Hearts” Shanghai Gynecology Special Committee, the Standing Committee of Shanghai Suburb Rheumatism Alliance. He is in the Editorial board of Chinese Journal of Practical Gynecology and obstetrics, and in the Editorial board of International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Liu is expert in each kind of feminine microsurgery, including laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopy surgery, vaginal surgery etc. He holds special features of diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, such as pelvic organ prolapse, stress urinary incontinence, etc. Dr. Liu has 16 publications published in core journals or abroad, of which 6 are SCI, and composed 4 monographs. In 2005, he was awarded the Sackler annual award of the Chinese physician. In 2000, he was awarded the title of "Excellent Young Doctor" in Renji Hospital.
