Biography

Liu Chang, Associate Professor in Department of Immunology and Microbiology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She received her PhD from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 2009 in Medical Microbiology and Parasitology. She is a keynote teacher of ‘Microbiology’ in Ottawa-Shanghai Joint School of Medicine and ‘Medical Microbiology and Parasitology in College of Basic Medical Sciences. As the main participant, she won the national online first-class course "Medical Microbiology". Deputy editor of the national planning textbook "Medical Microbiology and Parasitology", and participated in the compilation of the national English planning textbook "Medical Microbiology". She is in charge of the demonstration course of Medical Microbiology in Shanghai. She has won more than 20 teaching awards, such as the first prize of the National Teaching Competition for Young Teachers in Colleges and Universities, the first prize of the National Teaching Competition for Young Teachers in Basic Medicine, the special prize of the Shanghai Teaching Competition for Young Teachers in Colleges and Universities, the Shanghai Teaching Expert, and the Shanghai May Day Labor Medal. In terms of scientific research, she has been engaged in related research on the interaction between human microbiota, probiotics and host, especially focusing on the regulation strategy of the microbiota in colorectal cancer and diabetes. Her studies also focus on the safety assessment of probiotic bacteria, transfer of antimicrobial resistance genes in swine, soil and human interfaces. She has published more than 20 research papers and won NFSC funding support. She also serves as director of Shanghai Society of Food Science, and member of Microecology Special Committee of Shanghai Preventive Medicine Association, and member of Youth Working Committee of Shanghai Society for Microbiology. Member of Shanghai Youth Federation, Executive member of Shanghai Women's Federation, Council member of Shanghai Outstanding Young Female Teachers Association.
