Founded in July 2011, China Hospital Development Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (CHDI) initiated a new round of substantial construction in June 2017. Since its foundation, the Institute has always focus on the strategic goals aimed at the reform in the national medical and health system and the management of public hospitals as well as innovation in the research mechanisms. With the support of the colleges and hospitals attached to Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Institute has established 26 research institutes and 1 research center. At present, the Institute is engaged in key research projects and organizing high-level academic forums and high-end training programs with fruitful achievements by gathering the wisdom from all sides. In December 2019, the Institute was rated by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission as Grade-A University Think Tank.
