Prof. Fang Yong (male, Han nationality), born in October 1967 in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, is a Doctor of Medicine, professor, chief physician, and PhD supervisor. He is a member of the Communist Party of China and currently vice chancellor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.

He previously served as director of Burn and Plastic Surgery Department at Shanghai Third People’s Hospital, vice president and president of Shanghai Third People’s Hospital, president of Clinical Medical School of Shanghai Third People’s Hospital, and executive vice president of Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital.

He has been engaged in the clinical practice, research and teaching of Burn and Plastic Surgery for nearly thirty years, and is proficient in the treatment of severe burn patients, wound repair, scar prevention and treatment, as well as the theory and practice of plastic surgery. He has completed more than 20 scientific research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. He has published more than 80 papers (11 of which are included in SCI) and two monographs. He has been awarded Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award and Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Progress Award. During his career, he has supervised more than 30 master and doctoral students.

Fang has many years’ experiences in hospital management. He participated in advanced training courses on hospital management at CEIBS, Harvard University School of Public Health, Cambridge University, and Peking University School of Public Health. He is an expert in multiple management positions such as medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, information, infrastructure and logistics in the hospital.

He concurrently serves as member of the Standing Committee of the Building Research Branch of the Chinese Hospital Association, member of the Logistics Management Professional Committee of the Chinese Hospital Association, member of the Burn Surgery Committee of the Chinese Medical Association, vice president of the Burn Surgeons Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, and member of the Standing Committee of the Aesthetic Medicine Professional Committee of China Research Hospital Association. He also serves as a Standing Editorial Board member of Chinese Journal of Injury and Repair, editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Burn Surgery, editorial board member of Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Medical Edition).

He is in charge of finance, assets (including infrastructure development), school industry, Pudong new campus construction, hospital management, campus management, security and stability, and logistics.

He coordinates chancellor’s office (including letters and complaints), archives, retirement affairs, development outreach, ICT application, auditing and Hainan Program.

Fang is responsible for liaison with School of Nursing and Shanghai Ninth People’s hospital.
