Addressing the theme of “integrated management of head and neck tumors through multidisciplinary collaboration”, the Forum was intended to contribute to the thorough implementation of the Healthy China Initiative and Precision Medicine Strategy while exploring and spreading the latest trends and ideas regarding the prevention and treatment of head and neck tumors and associated diseases (osteonecrosis of the jaw, ONJ) in China.

The Forum invited a multitude of Chinese experts, scholars, and industry elite in oral and maxillofacial surgery to discuss and share their knowledge and experience, bringing an academic feast to all attendees. Fan Xianqun, Chancellor of SJTUSM and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Zhiyuan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Wang Yanfeng, Vice President of the Artificial Intelligence Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, were invited to deliver a speech at the Forum. Leaders of different departments of the Ninth Affiliated People's Hospital, including Professor Wang Xudong, Vice President of the Ninth Affiliated People's Hospital, Professor Xu Yuanjin, Secretary of the College of Stomatology, Zhang Chenping, the tenured professor, and Yuan Weijun, deputy director of the Nursing Department, were invited as guests to the Forum.

The opening ceremony of the Forum was hosted by Professor He Yue, who is the executive chairman of the Forum, director of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial- Head and Neck Oncology and General Party branch secretary of the Ninth Affiliated People's Hospital, and also the executive director of Shanghai Diagnosis and Treatment and Translational Medicine Center for Head and Neck Tumors. Wu Hao, President of the Ninth Affiliated People's Hospital, Ma Yanbin, deputy director of Shanghai Hospital Development Center, and Luo Meng, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, were invited to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony.
During the National-Level Continuing Education Workshop in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Osteonecrosis of the Jaw, experts shared the latest progress in the management of ONJ as well as the development trends. They discussed and exchanged their clinical experience with each other and put forward a variety of valuable suggestions and opinions, which will contribute to the management of head and neck tumors and associated diseases (e.g., ONJ) in China.
More than 400 attendees were attracted to the Forum for sharing and discussion, with online participations reaching almost 4,000 and a click volume above 13.4 thousand. The Forum provided an important exchange platform for experts in oral and maxillofacial- head and neck oncology and in the interdisciplinary field, and helped improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial tumors and facilitate the development of this discipline.
