During the conference the alliance for the second batch of specialties of the National Center of Stomatology were successfully established. Themed on "Focusing on the Frontier and IntegratingCommon Benefits", the conference had a keynote seminar and five panel sessions. Experts are invited, including academicians who have research focus on clinical medicine and stomatology, and best professionals in the oral industry, to exchange ideas and thoughts on cutting-edge stomatology technology, to promote the homogenization of stomatology, and to jointly plan the development path of stomatology during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.

Li Dachuan, deputy director of the Medical Administration Department of the National Health Commission, put forward three suggestions to the NationalCenter of Stomatology: to earnestly perform their duties and tasks, and play a leading role in the industry; to constantly establish and improve an effective mechanism to form a complementary pattern ofdiversified development; to actively explore the path of deepening the reform and promoting the high-quality development of public hospitals, and strive to be a model of high-quality development of public hospitals.

Wen Daxiang, Director of Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, stressed in his address that under the background of the "Healthy China" strategy, Shanghai has extensively organized and implemented healthy oral campaigns, earnestly fulfilled its main responsibilities as the local government, and has given strong support to the National Center of Stomatology in the aspects of infrastructure, specialty development, and talent training.

Jiang Fan, Council Chair of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, mentioned the historical significance of having the National Center of Stomatology residing in ShanghaiNinth People's Hospital for promoting the high-quality development of stomatology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She hoped that the wisdom and consensus of leaders and experts attending the conference could be gathered to provide valuable guidance for the high-quality development of the National Center of Stomatology.

Wu Hao, President of Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, spoke on behalf of the 2023 rotating host of the National Center of Stomatology . He said that the Ninth People's Hospital has given full play to the advantages of stomatology technology innovation by building a new hospital in Zhuqiao featuring the National Center of Stomatology, aiming to jointly boost the development of the center along with its peers. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jiang Xinquan, Executive Dean of the College of Stomatology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Vice President of the Chinese Stomatological Association and Executive Deputy Director of the National Center of Stomatology (Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital).

During the opening ceremony of the conference, the founding ceremony of the alliance for the second batch of specialties - the National Center of Stomatology Alliances of Dental Implant and Periodontal Disease was held. Academician Zhang Zhiyuan, Director of the National Center of Stomatology (Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital), President Guo Chuanbin, Director of the National Center of Stomatology (Peking University Hospital of Stomatology), and Vice President Han Xianglong, Deputy Director of the National Center of Stomatology (West China Hospital of Stomatology), presented letters of appointment to the new directors and deputy directors of the Specialty Alliances respectively.

The keynote speech session of the conference was presided over by Xu Yuanjin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Stomatology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Li Zhaoshen, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhao Yimin, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Zhiyuan, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of the National Center of Stomatology (Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital); Guo Chuanbin, Director of the National Center of Stomatology (Peking University Hospital of Stomatology) and President of the Chinese Stomatological Association, and Han Xianglong, Deputy Director of the National Center of Stomatology (West China Hospital of Stomatology) and Vice President of the West China Hospital of Stomatology Sichuan University, delivered speeches on five topics including early screening, diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancer, precision implantation and immediate restoration on edentulous jaw, innovation and disciplinary development, research and application of software for craniofacial surgery design, and doctor-industry integration and innovation in orthodontics. They presented the latest and all-round progress in the field of stomatology and clinical medicine, and jointly plan the high-quality development path of stomatology.

The panel sessions of the conference were organized by the first and second batch of specialty alliances of the National Center of Stomatology. Fifteen experts from the Specialty Alliance of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Specialty Alliance of Dental Implant, the Specialty Alliance of Prosthodontics, the Specialty Alliance of Periodontal Disease, and the Specialty Alliance of Endodontics made reports on topics such as frontier development of subdisciplines, development of clinical diagnosis and treatment models, multi-disciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment, and new digital technologies. The alliances made full use of their advantages in clinical technology, discipline, and talent to share academic achievements, exchange research progress, and deeply explored the frontier technology with their member units.

This annual gathering is the first large-scale academic conference held offline since the founding of the National Center of Stomatology. The conference demonstrated the latest ideas, technologies, and progress in the field of stomatology. In the future, the three main hospitals will continue to work closely to develop the National Center of Stomatology and actively build a high-level platform for stomatology. It is the hope of the National Center of Stomatology to help implement the "Healthy China" strategy, and to promote the prosperity and progress of stomatology in China.
