Biography
Dr. ZHANG Weili is a chief physician at the Shanghai Institute for Pediatric Research, Shanghai Xinhua Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, a professor of Pediatrics, a doctoral supervisor, and a former director of the Division of Nutrition and Digestive Diseases of Shanghai Institute for Pediatric Research. Dr. Zhang graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University and obtained Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Dr. Zhang was sent by the World Health Organization to study at the McMaster University Medical Centre in Canada during 1986-1987 and received a certificate of Clinical Research Fellow. As a visiting professor, Dr. Zhang also conducted research on fat nutrition at the Institute of Clinical Biochemistry, Ulm University, Germany in 1995. Dr. Zhang was the director of the Neonatal Branch of Shanghai Biomedical Engineering Association, and a committee member of the Shanghai Perinatal Medicine Association. Dr. Zhang is also a member of the Editorial Board of Clinical Pediatrics, an Editor-in-Chief of the reference book Neonatal Nutrition, and has published more than 140 research papers. Dr. Zhang has won several academic awards, including the Third Prize of Science and Technology Progress of the National Education Commission, and the Second and the Third Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress, and has been rewarded as a State Council Expert for Special Allowance.
