Biography

• Professor Zhang Chen-ping (MD, DDS, FRCS), is specialized in surgical treatment of oral maxillofacial head and neck neoplasm, especially on functional mandible reconstruction. He has been appointed as academic leader Professor of Department of Oral & Maxillofacial – Head & Neck Oncology, Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Council Member of International Academy of Oral Oncology, Director of IAOMS Oral and Maxillofacial Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery Training Fellowship Program, Joint Training Centre in Oral-Maxillofacial and Head and Neck Oncology of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK.

• Professor Zhang has led the establishment of a 125-member specialist alliance for the diagnosis and treatment of oral maxillofacial head and neck tumors in China, and has worked with 14 tertiary hospitals to conduct clinical research on the comprehensive treatment of 1280 cases of advanced oral cancer in the country, and has developed a number of treatment protocols.

• Professor Zhang has published more than 300 papers and edited more than 20 specialized books. He was awarded the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress in 2019 for the technological innovation and promotion of the application of functional reconstruction of mandible defects.
