Biography

  • Prof. QU Jieming specializes in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He is a senior expert in the epidemiology, microbiology, diagnosis and treatment of lower respiratory tract infection. He has been exploring the therapeutic effect and biological mechanism of mesenchymal stromal cells as well as the secreted extracellular microvesicles in severe pulmonary infection. He leverages CRISPR-Cas12, LAMP, mNGS, deep learning and other methods to develop novel approaches for rapid pathogen detection and antimicrobial resistance prediction. He is also interested in studying host-microbe interactions aiming to offer new insights into the intervention of pulmonary infection. He currently serves as Director of Scientific Committee of Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, President of Chinese Thoracic Society, and Deputy President of Chest Physicians Society of Chinese Medical Doctor Association. His research has been supported by National key research and development projects (1 project), National Natural Science Foundation of China (7 projects) and National Key Basic Research program (2 sub-projects) and has been awarded for National Science and Technology Progress Award (2nd prize, 2007) and Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award (1st prize, 2020; 2nd prize, 2006). He has more than 300 publications, with 134 of SCI included (Total impact factors: 985).
