Biography

  • Feng Gao, M.D., Ph.D., doctoral supervisor and advanced professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He is also the special expert honored by the State of Council of P.R. China. Dr. Gao is currently a principal investigator in the Department of Molecular Biology, Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and also serves as vice chairman of the Shanghai Clinical Laboratory Physicians Association as well as chief member of the Clinical Immunology Technology of Shanghai Society of Immunology. He was awarded the Shanghai Leading Talents in 2013 and the Shanghai Academic Research Leaders in 2011, and won the title of the Third National "Bethune's Good Doctor". Dr. Gao has dedicated to study the mechanisms underlying extracellular matrix and tumor metastasis and has found the new role of CD44 and hyaluronan in breast cancer cells collective invasion. He has been granted by the National High-tech Research and Development Program (863 Program) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Dr. Gao has published more than 100 papers in journals such as Oncogene, J Biol Chem, FASEB J, FEBS J, and has obtained two National Invention Patent. Dr. Gao is awarded the Distinguished Doctoral Supervisor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Doctoral Supervisor of the Zhiyuan Honorary Program for Ph.D. Students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
