Biography

• Professor Fan Cun yi, male, was born in Tai ‘an, Shandong Province in April 1964. He is a chief physician, second-class professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and doctoral supervisor. Prof. Fan holds the position as Vice President of Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital, the director of the Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Orthopaedic Material Innovation and Tissue Regeneration. He was awarded the special allowance of National Model of Earthquake Relief, National Famous Doctor, and Shanghai Medical Craftsman, etc. serves as vice president of the Hand Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.

• Professor Fan has been engaged in orthopedics for a long time and has made outstanding contributions in the fields of limb injury, soft tissue injury and osteochondral degeneration, especially in the field of peri-elbow injury and post-traumatic elbow stiffness (PTES), creating a new era of precision diagnosis and treatment of elbow diseases in China. By normalizing the treatment plan of peri-elbow injury, he took the lead in the treatment of complex fractures such as the radial head fracture and the terror triad of elbow with the concept of type-based magnitude and on-demand reconstruction, which can effectively prevent the occurrence of PTES.

• Professor Fan won the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award (2020, publicly completed) and the First Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (2014) as the first completion person. He takes the lead in establishing the largest elbow dysfunction diagnosis and treatment platform in the world. Professor Fan presided over nearly 20 national and provincial projects. In addition, he published 186 Chinese core papers and 185 SCI-indexed papers and the cumulative IF reached 1097.
