Biography

• Professor Wang Yixin was born in Yiwu, Zhejiang in 1938, and graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University in 1960. He was the Director of Shanghai Institute of Andrology, Director of Shanghai Human Sperm Bank, Director of Urology Department of Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. Engaged in urology and andrology clinical and experimental research for more than 50 years, he is an expert in various urinary and andrology intractable diseases and specializes at the diagnosis and treatment of urogenital tumors, kidney stones, urethral stricture, male infertility, male sexual dysfunction and prostate diseases. Over the years, he has published more than 100 papers on urology and andrology, and participated in the preparation and publication of more than 30 monographs. In 1992, entrusted by the Shanghai Health Bureau, he was responsible for the preparation of the human sperm bank. During the presidency, he successively established the Shanghai Renji Prostate Disease Research Information Exchange Center and the Renji-Janssen Andrology Research and Training Center. On October 1, 1993, he received a special government allowance from the State Council and issued a certificate. In 2011, he was hired as an expert for the second-level position in the Shanghai health system.
