He is specialized in surgery of oral & maxillofacial and head & neck tumors, in particular for the functional reconstruction of the defects and microsurgery, computer aided surgery. He first successfully performed some advanced and new surgeries in China, such as radical resection of carotid artery involved by advanced head neck cancer and immediate reconstruction, application of digital technique in jaw reconstruction (especially using vascularized fibula flap and 3-D titanium mesh/PEEK for maxillary reconstruction), recommendation of the new concept of “drawer-like” resection of maxillary ossifying fibroma and reconstruction with 3-D print titanium mesh/PEEK, cranio-maxillo-facial resection and immediate reconstruction, performing transoral segmental mandibulectomy and intraoral anastomosis without extraoral incision for accurate mandibular reconstruction. He is the chairman of the Chapter of oncology plastic surgery, China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Healthcare; the first group leader of Head and Neck Surgery Group, the Committee of the Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery, Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine; a Fellow of International College of Dentists; the Honour Professor of Central Research Institute of Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation; Chairman of Strasbourg Osteosynthesis Research Group (S.O.R.G) China.He has published more than 160 academic papers, 3 scholarly works as Editor-in-Chief, and won First Prize of Science and Technology Progress from Ministry of Education.
