Research Interests

• Dr. Xu has been engaged in the research on the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), mainly focusing on the epigenetic pathogenesis and demethylation therapy. Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) comprises a heterogeneous group of myeloid neoplasms, which are characterized in common by manifestations of bone marrow failure with abnormal cell morphology and a high propensity to acute myeloid leukemia (AML). China has gradually entered the aging era, and the incidence of MDS is gradually increasing. By studying MDS pathogenesis, more treatment will be developed and contributes to improvement of MDS prognosis.
