Research Interests

• Prof. Zhao focuses her research on basic mechanisms and new clinical intervention techniques in addiction. To date, she has published almost 200 articles in peer-reviewed journals including JAMA Psychiatry, World Psychiatry, Ebiomedicine, and Addiction. She has received numbers of advanced grants from prominent national and international organizations such as National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC-CN), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and World Health Organization (WHO). She is an Associate Editor for Addiction and General Psychiatry and holding active leadership and membership at eminent associations and advisory groups, such as International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM), Chinese Association of Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment (CADAPT) and several WHO/UNODC expert groups.
