Research Interests

• As a surgeon-scientist Wang's aim is to reduce blindness by developing new treatments for retinal diseases. Her research interests focus on retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy surgical techniques, the basic study of age-related macular degeneration, and the clinical study of uveitis. Her research extends from the laboratory investigation of mechanisms of retinal disease in experimental models, through preclinical development of novel therapies, to clinical trials of new medical and surgical interventions. The other focus on providing innovative imaging tools for diagnosis and identification of blinding diseases; offering meaningful endpoints and investigating novel therapeutic approaches in retinal diseases. Also, she has acted as primary investigator on numerous clinical trials over the last decade.
