Research Interests

• Professor Guang Ning is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He focuses on the treatment and prevention of hereditary endocrine diseases and type 2 diabetes. Professor Ning has been committed to the clinical and scientific research of endocrine and metabolic diseases for a long time and has made innovative achievements in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of endocrine tumors and diabetes. Under his leadership, the research group discovered the pathogenesis and pathogenic genes of multiple type I endocrine neoplasia, islet cell tumors, adrenal Cushing’s syndrome, and thyroid nodules, standardized and optimized the diagnosis and treatment plan, and significantly improved the overall level of basic research and clinical diagnosis and treatment of endocrine tumors. He devoted to creating a research model of biobanks through large cohorts, comprehensively elaborating on the severe situation of metabolic diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes in China, aiming to reveal the mechanism of metabolic diseases caused by intestinal flora disturbance and to explore the novel risk factors and new prevention and treatment programs. He has published over 300 scientific papers in leading biomedical journals such as Science, JAMA, and Nature Medicine.
