Research Interests

  • Pretibial myxedema is a skin disease associated with Graves hyperthyroidism, which is characterized by swelling of the anterior tibial skin of the lower legs. Our research group found that the trimodality therapy for patients with PTM with topical glucocorticoid under occlusive dressing, intralesional injection with glucocorticoid and high-dose ultraviolet 1 (UVA1) phototherapy was safe and effective. The pathogenic antibody of GD is thyroxine receptor antibody (TRAb), which is also highly expressed in the peripheral blood of PTM. Our group studied the phenotype and local immune microenvironment of T and B cells and the pathological effect of fibroblasts. We aim to explore the pathogenesis of PTM and provide experimental basis for the clinical trimodality therapy for skin lesions.

  • In clinic, Dr Chen specializes in laser cosmetology, botulinum toxin and filler injection, etc..
