Biography

  • Prof. Xinquan Jiang is now served as dean of faculty of dentistry, executive dean of College of Stomatology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, academic leader of the department of prosthodontics, Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, director of Shanghai Engineering and Research Center for Advanced Dental Technology and Materials and executive vice-director of National Center for Stomatology, director of Shanghai Research Institute of Stomatology. Currently, he is also a distinguished professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an honorary professor at the University of Sydney (Faculty of Engineering and IT). He serves as president of ICP (International College of Prosthodontists) and fellow of ICD (international college of dentistry), vice president of Chinese Stomatological Association Council, vice president of Chinese Prosthodontic Society, councilor of Chinese Society for Biomaterials Council, and councilor of Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering. Prof. Jiang was also invited as a member of the 8th subject consultative group, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and the editorial member of 5 International Journals.

  • Prof. Jiang’s research focuses on prosthodontics and regenerative medicine, particularly bone regeneration and oral function restoration, with tissue engineering and regenerative medicine strategies. He serves as the PI or Co-PI for more than 28 national or international grants and carries out clinical trials on evidence-based principles. He has 138 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including Advanced Materials, Advanced Science, Biomaterials, Journal of Dental Research, etc. He was invited for keynotes or invited lectures in national or international important meetings more than 20 times. He was involved in compiling 10 national planned teaching materials for the universities.

  • He won the prestigious IADR/Unilever Hatton Award in 2005 and was awarded by many national-level programs. He has long been engaged in teaching, guiding students to win awards, including the first International College of Prosthodontics "Research Assistance Programme" (ICP Research Grant Program, RGP) in 2016, the first prize of the Authur R Frechette 2016 new investigator award in the Prosthodontics Division and the Young investigator prize in the Oral Implantology Division, National Natural Science Foundation of China for Excellent Young Scholars, the Meiji Dairy Life Science Award, Young Ph.D. scholarship of Education Ministry, Young Elite Scientist Sponsorship Program by CAST, Shanghai Rising-star Program, and Sailing Program, etc.
