Biography

  • Prof. Wan-Tao Chen, director of the Department of Oral Clinical Immunology of College of Stomatology, vice director of Faculty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery & Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Head and Neck Oncology of Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, vice director of Shanghai Key Laboratory of Stomatology, director of Shanghai Professional and Technical Service Platform-Oral and Maxillofacial Tumor Tissue Samples and Biological Information Database.

  • Prof. Chen is the visiting professor of Thoracic/Head & Neck Medical Oncology Department, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas, USA. His work is supported by Program for Shanghai Outstanding Academic leader, Program of Shanghai Subject Chief Scientist and the National candidate of the “New Century Talents Project”. He is the president of Precision Medicine Society of National Association of Health Industry and Enterprise Management and is the vice chairman of the Medical Genetics Branch of Shanghai Medical Association.

  • His research focuses on the genetics and epigenetics molecular pathogenesis about head and neck cancer, precision medicine based on molecular classification, anti-cancer drug research and development, cancer immunotherapy and targeted therapy. He is the chief scientist of the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and has presided over 13 national grants, 15 municipal and ministerial key projects and international cooperation projects. He has published 4 Chinese and English professional books and text books. Prof. Chen has published more than 80 representative papers as corresponding authors in the famous international journals, such as EMBO J, Genome Biology, Advanced Science and JEV. He has won 6 Provincial and Ministerial Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards, including the first prize of Shanghai Scientific and Technological Progress Achievement as the first award winners’ records.
