           Research Interests

1. The biological function of left-handed Z-NAs

The research in the laboratory focuses on the unconventional left-handed nucleic acid, namely Z-nucleic acids (Z-NAs). Viral infection leads to the formation of Z-NAs and subsequently trigger cell death, moreover, endogenous Z-NAs have the potential to activate innate immune responses and inflammation which result in autoimmune diseases such as AGS and IBD or the neurodegenerative diseases.

The scientific questions we aim to explore include:

1.1 The function of Z-NAs in anti-viral immunity;

1.2 The function of Z-NAs in homeostasis or diseases;

1.3 Development of therapeutics against multiple diseases by modulating Z-NAs.

2. Anti-tumor Immunity

Application of cutting-edge technology in stem cell research on tumor immunotherapy.
