毕业于上海医科大学,于美国Boys Town National Research Hospital/Creighton University从事听觉生理研究并获得生物医学博士学位,2002-2016年于耶鲁大学外科学系从事科研工作。2016年加入上海交通大学医学院附属第九人民医院耳科学研究所。现任上海交通大学医学院附属第九人民医院耳鼻疾病转化医学重点实验室研究员,博士生导师。六年以来承担国家自然科学基金1项,科技部重点项目子课题等多项科研课题。现任中国生物物理协会听觉,言语和交流分会委员兼青年委员会常务委员,中国听力医学发展基金会基础研究专家委员会委员,ISIET (International society for inner ear therapeutics, France) 创始成员。
宋雷教授长期从事听觉外毛细胞电生理/生物物理方面的研究,研究主要运用膜片钳技术对外毛细胞能动性(electromotility)及非线性电容(Nonlinear Capacitance)特性进行分析,研究外毛细胞功能的调控,对Prestin表达调控及对听觉频率编码的机制进行深入的研究探索。
