　　　　　Prof Wilmut, the former head of the Department of Gene xpression and Development at the Roslin Institute near Edinburgh, Scotland, is best known for his pioneering work in the science of cloning. In 1996, he led the team that created the first animal to be cloned from an adult cell, Dolly the sheep. He has since become an international expert on cloning techniques, stem cell technologies, and stem cell research ethics. He was knighted in 2008.（本次报告人为克隆羊“多莉”之父）
