Differential quantification

Differential quantitation based on proteomics is similar in purpose to transcriptome chips and RNA-Seq. The goal is to identify differences in protein expression levels between two or more different states, times, or varieties of samples. This information is used to correlate and further study the differences in phenotype. This is currently the most widely used and closely integrated technical route for combining proteomics with biology and clinical applications.
