About Cores

Date:2019-11-13 show:

The Core Facilities of CSCOmics aim to contribute significantly to our internal investigators as well as other investigators in the School of Medicine. They organize occasional training courses and workshops, often in collaboration with industrial partners. Moreover, investigators from outside are also encouraged to seek our services, advice and guidance in conducting their research and/or setting up their own core facilities and services.

Currently, CSCOmics has 4 high-level single-cell resource cores that help focus diverse sets of expertise and multiple cutting edge technologies to address specific biological problems. Facilities cover the following areas:

Our Core Facilities are led by faculty at Associate Professor level and staffed by technology experts. They focus on service provision, delivering technologies to be used in research projects designed and run by others. However, they also conduct research on their own, for example, in developing new technology, but also collaborative projects with investigators from both inside and outside the School of Medicine. Close attention is given to the delivery of quality services, fast response times to user demands, affordable fees and the complete integration of Core Facilities with the scientific objectives of CSCOmics.

Each Core Facility has an advisory committee, which consists of investigators from the School of Medicine and is evaluated every year. These evaluations are meant to maintain quality of services, supports the introduction of new services, help to define future strategies and provide valuable feedback on current operations.
