Dr. Yuan’s primary research interests focus on fertility preservation in young breast cancer patients, chronic disease management, and health assessment. Dr. Yuan is particularly engaged in developing decision aid for fertility preservation, aiming to assist breast cancer patients in making informed decisions about their reproductive health. She leads several research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including a key project on constructing a decision support system for fertility preservation in young breast cancer patients based on prospect theory.

Dr. Yuan is a key teaching faculty member, responsible for courses in adult nursing, emergency care, nurse-patient communication, basic life support, and advanced health assessment. She emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical clinical skills, ensuring that students not only understand nursing concepts but also develop strong, hands-on skills for patient care.

Dr. Yuan serves as an executive committee member & vice secretary-general of the Fertility Preservation Committee of the Chinese Maternal and Child Health Association. She is also an active speaker at international academic conferences, where she presents her research on fertility preservation and nursing interventions in oncology. Furthermore, Dr. Yuan is involved in numerous editorial boards for academic journals and participates in reviewing academic research projects both nationally and internationally.
