Bio
Dr. Hu is an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She earned her Ph.D. from the Second Military Medical University and completed a year of postdoctoral research with Eun-OK Im at Duke University. She is a visiting Scholar at Monash University, Turner Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health.
Dr. Hu’s research centers on cross-cultural women’s health and public emergency health education and management. She is a pioneer in developing the intersectional digital-humanism methodology, which integrates gender and generational sensitivity to advance health equity among vulnerable women. Her scholarly contributions include more than 80 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and conference presentations.
As the principal investigator of multiple research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Dr. Hu maintains an active research agenda. She collaborates internationally with leading scholars from institutions such as University College London (UCL), Monash University, and the University of Texas at Austin.
In addition to her research, Dr. Hu is deeply committed to education and mentoring the next generation of nurses. She has guided students both within China and internationally, and has taught a broad range of courses, including nursing theory, nursing pedagogy, oncology nursing, and public emergency nursing.
