Research Specialty

  • Pathogenic genes, pathogenesis and treatment of familial hereditary jaw tumors: He discovered a novel mutation of ANO5, the causative gene of the rare autosomal dominant disease GDD (gnathodiaphyseal dysplasia), created an Ano5 knockout mouse model, found that Ano5 deletion in mice significantly diminishes intracellular calcium oscillation in both osteoblasts and osteoclasts, leading to reduced WNT/β-Catenin and RANKLNFATc1 signaling respectively, resulting in defective osteoblast and osteoclast differentiation as well as simultaneous reduction of osteogenesis and osteoclastogenesis, revealed that Ano5 positively modulates bone homeostasis via calcium signaling, and suggested that ANO5 gene might become a new target for clinical treatment of GDD-related bone metabolism diseases;

  • Preside over more than 10 national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, including National Natural Science Foundation, Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission research projects;

  • Publish more than 70 scientific papers, including papers published as the first author or corresponding author in journals such as npj Genomic Medicine, Cancer Cell International, Forensic Science International: Genetics, Oral Diseases, JOMS, Trials, etc.;
