TANG Guo Hua

Biography

Dr. Guo Hua Tang is at present the Vice Chair and Professor in Department of Orthodontics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine; College of Stomatology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China.

Dr. Tang has been a fellow of World Federation of Orthodontists since 2000. He got his PhD Degree at the University of Hong Kong in 2003. He got his diploma of membership in orthodontics, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009. He is now a Standing Committee Member of Chinese Orthodontic Society and Shanghai Orthodontic Society.

Dr. Tang has been engaged in the research of bone biology in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, focusing on the commitment of skeletal stem cells to osteo-angiogenic coupling osteogenesis in response to mechanical stimulations. Dr. Tang has considerable clinical experiences in customized aesthetic orthodontic treatment. His research interests also include biomechanics of tooth movement by lingual appliances and clear aligners. He has been responsible for a number of scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He published more than 80 professional papers on orthodontics in international and Chinese journals.
