Biography

Professor Jianjun Zhang, Doctoral supervisor, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial-Head & Neck Oncology, Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine; College of Stomatology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Senior visiting scholar of Harvard Medical School, Shanghai Rising-Star Program, Shanghai talent development funding. His research focuses on the tumor immune microenvironment and chemotherapy resistance in oral cancer: (1) It is confirmed that Exo-miR-196a derived from cancer cells can promote the resistance of oral cancer cells to cisplatin. hnRNPA1 is responsible for packaging miR-196a into exosomes. Targeted regulation of miR-196a or exosomes can effectively reverse the tolerance of oral cancer cells to cisplatin; (2) It was confirmed that p85-S6K1 protein has the activity of extracellular secretion. The secretion activity depends on the signal peptide of 23 amino acids at the N-terminal of p85-S6K1. As an oncoprotein, p85-S6K1 can promote the malignant transformation of normal epithelial cells; (3) It is confirmed that there is a subgroup of CAFs with antigen-presenting activity in oral cancer, this subgroup of CAFs highly express MHC-1 molecules and the immune co-stimulatory molecule Glactin-9, which can induce the depletion of CD8+T cells in the tumor microenvironment and promote the oral cancer progression. His articles have been published in international famous journals, such as Genome Biology, Molecular Cancer, Molecular Therapy, BMC Medicine, Science Signaling and Oncogene etc. He has been responsible for five projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and two projects of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of science and technology.
