Laboratory of Molecular Design and Translational Therapy

Personal Introduction:

Dr. Yu Chen obtained his Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry from China Pharmaceutical University in 2017 and his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Fudan University in 2021, and then pursued postdoctoral training at the School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. He joined the College of Basic Medical Sciences at Shanghai Jiao Tong University as Principal Investigator in March 2026 and currently leads the Laboratory of Molecular Design and Translational Therapy. His team aims to integrate molecular design with delivery strategies to engineer innovative therapeutics and tools addressing current clinical challenges. As the first author, Dr. Chen has published his research findings in high-impact journals, including Nature Biotechnology, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), and Chemical Society Reviews. He has also filed multiple PCT international patents, U.S. patents, and Chinese invention patents. He is a recipient of the NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Overseas) and the Shanghai Magnolia Talent Plan (Pujiang Program). Dr. Chen serves as the Youth Editor of Biomedical Technology and a Young Editorial Board Member of Materials Today Bio, Exploration, and VIEW.
