Cell Imaging

The mission of intravital imaging core is to provide the necessary instrumentation and technical support to acquire and analyze high-resolution images. The intravital imaging core is equipped with two laser scanning microscopes (OLYMPUS FLUOVIEW FV3000 and OLYMPUS FLUOVIEW FVMPE-RS) and image analysis workstation. Both microscopes are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to researchers for self-service imaging if they demonstrate competence to use the microscopes and complete the training.

Olympus FV3000 is optimized for live cell imaging with high sensitivity and low phototoxicity. Featuring the high sensitivity and speed required for live cell imaging as well as deep tissue observation, the FV3000 confocal microscope enables a wide range of imaging modalities, including macro-to-micro imaging, super resolution microscopy, and quantitative data analysis. The FV3000 confocal microscope isequipped withfive lasers such as 405, 488, 514, 561, 640. The inverted microscope frame is suited for a range of intravital tissue imaging, including liver, kidney, tumor, brain and more, and is also suited for slide imaging.

Olympus FVMPE-RS is optimized for live cell imaging with fixed-point excitation of long-wavelength laser, low phototoxicity and high depth. The FVMPE-RS two-photon microscope enables to detect four channels simultaneously including second harmonic imaging. The upright microscope frame is suited for a range of intravital tissue imaging, including lung, kidney, brain, lymph node, intestine, and more.

Image analysis workstation is installed with a range of image analysis software, including Imaris×64 9.5.0, Icy, LAS X, FV31S-DT, CellProfiler, ImageJ. These software products are interactive visualization and analysis software for 3D and time-lapse microscopic images with advanced solutions for big datasets. These software applications are easy to be used for making stunning snapshots and animations, generating quantitative information from microscopy data, tracking analysis, co-localization studies, plotting, statistical analysis, and more.
