Personal Introduction

Dr Cheng is the principal investigator at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She has engaged in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and molecular simulation algorithms, and recently has focused on the glycan-based drug design. Dr Cheng has developed a series of precise AI algorithms for glycan-based drug design, e.g., DeepGlycanSite, which won the "Tianhe Star" Excellent Application Award. She also designed multiple high-precision biological nanopores for glycan sequencing, providing new technologies for glycomics research. She revealed the molecular mechanisms of various glycans regulating GPCR targets, offering insights into the functional study of glycans. To date, Dr Cheng has published over 60 SCI papers, cited more than 10,000 times by others. Recently, as a (co-)corresponding author, she has published papers in top journals, includingNat Commun, J Am Chem Soc, Mol CellandPNAS. She has received awards such as the Shanghai Oriental Talents Youth and the Outstanding Member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Additionally, she serves as a council member of the Chinese Society for Glycobiology and a young council member of the Artificial Intelligence Pharmacy Special Committee of the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association.
