Lab Leader: Zhou Chen

Lab Name: Laboratory of Nonsynaptic Plasticity and Memory Encoding

Lab Info:Ion channels are widely expressed in the brain, nerve system, cardiovascular system, sensory-motor system, etc., and play important roles in information perception, neural signal transmission, cell fate, inflammation and so on. Dysfunction of ion channels couldcause severe channelopathies such as cardiovascular diseases, epilepsy, chronic pain, nervous diseases. Our lab focuses on the mechanisms of ion channel biogenesis and functional plasticity, and how ion channels modulate the integration of neural signal.

Our research interests include:

1. Mechanisms of ion channel biogenesis.

2. Mechanisms of ion channel functional plasticity.

3. Mechanisms of nonsynaptic plasticity mediated by ion channels.
