We study the biochemical and molecular mechanisms that regulate human metabolic diseases such as cancer, fatty liver, obesity and diabetes. We focus on the following specific areas:
1. Investigating the role and mechanism of enzymes in non-oxidative pentose phosphate pathway such as transketoolase (TKT) in cancers and metabolic diseases.
2. Studying the role and mechanism of Mondo family transcription factors (MondoA and ChREBP) in the metabolic regulation of the tumor microenvironment.
