Laboratory of New Methods R&D for the Treatment of Cancer and Bone Metabolic Diseases

Lab Leader: Fu Guo-Hui

Lab Name: Laboratory of New Methods R&D for the Treatment of Cancer and Bone Metabolic Diseases

Lab Info:The research group is composed of Shen Weiwei, Chen Shihui, Zu Lidong, Hu Chunting and Wang Jinglong. Research achievements and current research topics: (1) Firstly discovered that erythrocyte-specific protein is the molecular target of gastric cancer in the world, and elucidated relevant molecular mechanism. Gastric mucosal damage is a predisposing factor for breast cancer, gastrin inhibits gastric cancer and breast cancer by activating protein kinases, these research results won the second prize of Shanghai Medical Science and Technology in 2021. At present, we are focusing on the clinical translational applications of gastrin as a targeted drug and its improvement of the immune microenvironment.(2) Viral infection upregulates the expression of tumor cells PD-L1, and the oncolytic virus combined with PD-L1 antibody enhances the anti-tumor effect of mice compared with the single-use virus or antibody.We are currently conducting clinical trial.(3) The NF-kb pathway was found to be the key and potential therapeutic target of cartilage catabolism, and a novel bone targeting delivery system has been established for the treatment of steroid-associated osteonecrosis.The research group has published more than 50 papers in Hepatology, Blood, JECCR, Oncogene, Br J Pharmacol,Bone,JOT and other journals.

Laboratory of Ultrasensitive Detection of Disease Biomarkers

Lab Leader: Xu Wang

Lab Name: Laboratory of Ultrasensitive Detection of Disease Biomarkers

Lab Info:The Wang lab works on the development of ultrasensitive methods for the detection of disease biomarkers, including proteins, enzymes, nucleic acids and small molecules, which are used for accurate diagnosis of cancer, infectious, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative diseases.

The main research directions are as follows:

1. Development of ultrasensitive single molecule immunoassays for the detection of protein biomarkers;

2. Development of isothermal nucleic acid amplification methods for point-of-care molecular diagnostics;

3. Development of ultrasensitive methods for the detection of enzyme activity, and its application in single cell analysis and drug screening;

4. Development of novel fluorescence imaging techniques for in vitro and in vivo applications.
