心脏大血管外科创建于1957年，是国内最早开展心血管外科手术的医院之一。是卫生部全国心胸外科进修基地、卫生部国家临床重点专科、上海市领先专业。科室拥有一批在心血管病外科方面有着丰富临床经验的专家，每年开展各类心血管手术近千例，迄今已施行各类复杂心血管手术数万例。
上海市胸科医院心脏大血管外科擅长各类疑难心血管病的外科治疗，紧跟国际心血管外科治疗的最新发展动态和前沿技术，相继开展了不停跳冠状动脉搭桥术、微创小切口手术、二尖瓣成形术、房室缺非体外循环下封堵手术、房颤消融手术、急诊大血管手术等。同时在先心病领域，不断向低龄低体重和复杂先心病治疗领域开拓。目前，科室开展的尖端领先技术包括：保留瓣叶的二尖瓣成形手术、处于国内领先水平的复合主动脉瓣成形手术、自主创新的改良 David术式，以及处于国际领先水平的改良Yacoub术式等主动脉根部重建技术。
科室每年承担多项各级课题，并发表多篇具有国际水准的论文、论著。其中《顾恺时胸心外科手术学》集中了包括台湾在内的我国上百名胸心外科领域的知名学者参加编著工作，是国内最具影响力的胸心外科手术学专著之一。学科现有病床近120张，其中包括2 个成人病区1 个先心病区及1个监护室。现有医生30名，其中主任医师4 名，副主任医师14 名，硕士研究生导师2 名，国务院政府特殊津贴2人。
Cardiovascular Surgery Department
Shanghai Chest Hospital is one of the earliest hospitals in China which capable of performing the cardiovascular surgery. Founded in 1957, the cardiovascular surgery department is the National Cardiothoracic Surgery Training Center of the Ministry of Health, the National Key Clinical Specialty of the Ministry of Health, and the leading Specialty in Shanghai. The department has a group of experts with rich clinical experience in cardiovascular diseases and surgeries. Each year, nearly 1,000 cases of various types of cardiovascular surgery have been performed. So far, tens of thousands of complicated cardiovascular operations have been performed.
The department specializes in the surgical treatment of various difficult cardiovascular diseases, closely following the latest developments and cutting-edge technologies of international cardiovascular surgery, and has successively performed off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting and minimally invasive small incision surgery, mitral valve repair, off-pump repair of the atrioventricular septal defect, atrial fibrillation ablation, emergency aortic aneurysm surgery and etc. At the same time, in the field of congenital heart disease, the team is constantly developing into the field of young-age, low-weight and complex congenital heart disease treatment.
At present, the cutting-edge leading technologies carried out by the department include mitral valve repair with preserved leaflets, composite aortic valve repair at the leading level in the country, modified David procedure with independent innovation, improved Yacoub procedure at the international leading level, and other aortic root reconstruction techniques.
Moreover, the department undertakes a number of researches at various levels each year, and publishes many internationally recognized papers and articles. Among them, “Gu Kaishi Thoraco-cardiac Operative Surgery” has concentrated on the work of hundreds of famous scholars in the field of thoracic-cardiac surgery in China, including Taiwan. It is one of the most influential monographs on thoracic-cardiac surgery in China.
The department has nearly 120 beds, including two adult wards, one pediatric ward and one intensive care unit. There are thirty doctors, including four chief physicians, 14 deputy chief physicians, two postgraduate tutors, and two experts own special allowances from he government of the State Council.
