上海市儿童医院普外科是我国创立最早的小儿外科专业，经过半个世纪的发展，目前已发展成为包含新生儿外科、肿瘤外科、胃肠/肝胆外科、普通外科等亚专业齐全的学科。在学科负责人的带领下在国内率先建立小儿微创外科中心，在新生儿坏死性小肠结肠炎、梨状窝瘘、胆道闭锁、胆总管囊肿、先天性巨结肠、先天性肛门直肠畸形（包括泄殖腔畸形）、腹膜后肿瘤、肝脏肿瘤、膈疝、ECMO、肝移植等小儿外科复杂疾病的诊治水平方面达到了国内外先进行列。

TheDepartment of General Surgery at Shanghai Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive care to neonates, infants, children, adolescents with surgical problems. We are leaders in minimally invasive surgery techniques, which mean less pain and quicker recoveries for your young patients. Service is provided 24-hours a day by a highly experienced team of pediatric surgeons, nurses and other specialists. Our excellent pediatric surgical services include necrotizing enterocolitis, pyriform sinus fistula, biliary atresia, choledochal cyst, Hirschsprung disease, anorectal malformation (including persistent cloaca), pediatric solid tumor (including neuroblastoma, nephroblastoma, hepatoblastoma, etc), congenital diaphragmatic hernia, ECMO, liver transplantation.
