上海交通大学附属第六人民医院超声医学科是中国超声诊断发源地，是具有较大影响力的品牌学科，是国家临床重点学科，上海市重中之重影像重点学科,上海交通大学医学院及上海交通大学附属第六人民医院的重点学科；上海超声医学研究所(4A级）、上海市超声医学培训中心依托单位，并与上海健康学院共建国内超声技师培训中心；上海交通大学医学院硕、博士学位研究生培养点及上海交通大学医学院影像医学博士后流动站建站部门。
在前名誉主任周永昌教授、现任主任胡兵教授的领导下，六院超声医学科已逐步形成了亚学科门类齐全、超声诊治技术领先，医疗、科研、教学齐头并进的大超声发展模式及格局。超声医学科（诊疗）分为大腹部（包括浅表）、妇产科、心血管、运动医学（肌骨神经）、介入超声、代谢病超声、麻醉疼痛超声、急重症超声等。
1958年成立院属超声医学研究室，1960年批准为局属超声医学研究室，作为卫生部超声培训基地，成为早期中国超声诊断人才培养的摇篮。1997年，成立上海市超声医学培训中；2004年成为上海市医学重点学科（上海市介入影像重点学科）；2008年成为上海交通大学医学院重点学科；2009年成立上海超声医学研究所；2010年成为上海住院医师规范化（大影像）培训基地负责超声专业培训细则制定，2005年起一直是上海市超声住院医师技能唯一考核基地；2014年成为上海市超声专科医师规培组长单位，同年成为国家重点临床专科；2017年入选上海市重中之重重点学科。先后荣获“上海市劳模创新工作室”（2014）、“卫生系统全国先进集体”（2017）、 “上海市工人先锋号”集体称号（2019）。
目前上海六院超声医学团队形成了梯次搭配合理，高端人才突出的队伍。团队现有高级职称13人，全职研究生导师10人（博士生导师4人，硕士生导师6人）具医师资格的34名在职人员中，硕士学位以上31位（91.2%），博士18名（52.9%），近五年培养进修医师115人。团队成员担任国家级学会及其委员会主委、副主委达13人次。入选国家杰青1人、万人计划1人、国家百千万人才工程2人、国家中青年科技创新领军人才1人、国家有突出贡献中青年专家1人、教育部优秀新世纪人才1人、国家自然科学基金二审专家2人、享受国务院特殊津贴4人、中央保健局专家委员会专家1人。
目前上海超声医学研究所拥有完善的实验条件，包括磁/声调控平台、超声微纳米医学平台、超声功率检测平台、超声造影剂研发与性能检测平台、超声脑科学研究平台、分子影像平台及转化平台等。近5年团队以第一负责人承担在研校局级以上科研项目达26项（包括近三年获得两项国际科技部数字诊疗重点研发项目、上海市重大脑科学计划课题、国家自然科学基金委重点国际合作项目）。截止2017年底年共发表SCI论文106篇（其中>5分29篇，>10分9篇，>15分6篇），发布国家标准一部。
学科秉承严谨厚实、和合创新的文化内涵，不断开拓进取、开放学习，不忘中国超声诊断创始之初心，制定符合国家战略的学科长远发展规划，探索实践，以推进符合国情的行业发展造福百姓。
Our department is "the birthplace of ultrasound diagnosis in China". It is a national advanced health collective, a national key clinical specialty, a top priority discipline in Shanghai, the Shanghai Training Center of Ultrasound in Medicine and a national resident standardized training-the professional base of ultrasound, a cross-cooperation team of scientific and technological innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Shanghai Labor Model Studio. As a representative of the National Health Advanced Collective in 2017, the members of the team were summoned by the Vice Premier of China, Mrs Liu Yandong and the Mayor of Shanghai, Mr. Yong Ying, for an audience .
Our team has 42 doctors, researchers and management personnel and 10 technicians. Among the physicians, 93.3% has a master's degree or above, and 53.3% has a doctor's degree or above. Eleven senior titles. Postgraduate tutors: 10 (3 doctoral tutors, 7 master tutors). Our team is mainly young and middle-aged, with interdisciplinary personnel. Most of them have experience in large project research. Team members include 1 national distinguished youth, 1 million planned innovative leader, 2 million talented researchers, 1 national young and middle-aged scientific and technological innovative leader, 2 outstanding talents of the Ministry of Education in the new century, and 1 Shanghai Qimingxing youth. Fourteen people have served in national and provincial academic organizations.
Our team currently has 26 scientific research projects, with a total funding of more than 50 million RMB. In 2017 and 2018, our team got two national key R&D projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a key international (regional) cooperative research project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2017.
Our main research area: magnetic/acoustic manipulation, acoustic/optical/magnetic multi-modality imaging, ultrasound nanomedicine, ultrasound molecular imaging, brain research related new technologies development, acoustical power examination, ultrasound-related clinical research
