Biography

Professor Zheng’s work focuses on research and teaching of clinical epidemiology and evidence-based medicine, with main research interests in epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases, epidemiology of neurocognitive disorders and clinical research methodology. He was ever a professor and doctoral supervisor at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University, and has started a new position as a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine since 2020. Zheng worked as a visiting scholar at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, USA (2016-2017), wherehe participated in the world-renowned Bogalusa Heart Study (BHS). He also teaches the undergraduate and graduate courses in  Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

Professor Zhenghas received various research grants and acted as principle investigator onthree projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one subproject by the 13th Five-Year Plan, one by Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Award, one by Liaoning Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China, and one by Shenyang Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Innovation Talent Support Program. He has already published 62 academic papers including 34 SCI papers as the first or corresponding author, and co-authored more than 120 SCI papers.

Professor Zheng also serves in many academic positions including deputy director of the 3rd Special Committee on Neonatal Evidence-Based Medicine of the Neonatologist Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the member of the Shanghai Health Science Expert Pool, the council member of the Shanghai Society of Toxicology, the executive director of the 6th China Rural Health Association, the member of the Working Committee on Vascular Risk Assessment of the Chinese Medical Association Hypertension Professional Committee, the member of the Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the member of the 8th Standing Committee of the Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine Branch of the Liaoning Medical Association, the deputy director of the Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine Branch of the Shenyang Physicians Association, and the member of the editorial board of several high impact journals.

He won a second prize of the 2010 National Science and Technology Progress Award, a second prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, a first prize of the Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the Shenyang Science and Technology Revitalization Award, the 10th Liaoning Youth Science and Technology Award, and the Shenyang Municipal Youth Job Talent of 2015.
