Professor Wang Hui, the Dean of School of Public Health, has Been Selected into the 2024 List of "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers"

On March 26, 2025, Elsevier, a globally renowned academic publishing institution, officially released the 2024 list of "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers". Professor Wang Hui, Dean of School of Public Health, has been on the list for five consecutive years.

A total of 6,388 scholars were included in the 2024 list of "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers", coming from 547 universities, enterprises and scientific research institutions, covering 83 first-level disciplines in 10 discipline fields of the Ministry of Education.

This list takes the citation and indexing database Scopus of Elsevier, a globally leading information analysis company, as the statistical source. The list uses the Scopus database as the statistical source, comprehensively considering indicators such as the number of highly cited papers of scholars as the first or corresponding author, and their contributions to the discipline. It aims to present the global influence of China's scientific research strength. The title of highly cited scholar is not only an acknowledgment of an individual's academic achievements, but also a key indicator of the discipline construction and talent attraction of university. Being selected as a highly cited scholar represents that the total number of citations of the papers published by this scholar ranks at the top among all Chinese researchers in the discipline, and the scholar has world-class influence in his/her research field and has made great contributions to the development of this field.

Wang Hui, a second-level professor and a supervisor of doctoral students, is the Dean of School of Public Health of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, the Executive Dean of the Institute of Digital Medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Chinese Director of the Center for Single-Cell Omics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, the Chairperson of the Overseas Chinese Federation of Huangpu District, Shanghai, and the Chairperson of the Overseas Chinese Federation of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, a selected member of the National Talents Project for the New Century, a recipient of the China Young Female Scientists Award, and an expert enjoying the special allowance of the State Council. She is a member of the Expert Committee of the Food Safety Commission of the State Council, a national health science popularization expert, the chief expert in the field of nutrition science in China, the Chairperson of the Microbiology Sub-committee of the First Food Safety National Standard Review Committee, the Director of the Digital and Intelligent Active Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Center of the China Inspection and Testing Society, the Chairperson of the Dietary Nutrition Professional Committee of the Shanghai Food Safety Risk Assessment Expert Committee, the Chairperson of the Shanghai Society of Toxicology, and the Director of the Digital Health Professional Committee of the Shanghai Big Data Social Application Research Association. She is also a highly cited scholar of Elsevier and the chief scientist of key special projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology. She has long been engaged in the basic and applied research on active health and chronic disease prevention and control, nutrition and food safety, health education and health communication. She has published more than 200 SCI papers in international journals such as Nature and JAMA, edited 9 books, applied for 60 patents, achieved 7 achievements in transformation, formulated 25 national and industrial standards, and won the first prize of Shanghai Excellent Teaching Achievements.
