Students from the School of Public Health won the first prize in the "Second National Simulation Innovation Application Competition"

Recently, the 2023 National Simulation Innovation Application Competition sponsored by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology came to a successful end. A total of 4,370 teams from 827 enterprises, universities, hospitals, military units, etc., with a number of 30,590 contestants participated in the provincial and national competitions. After careful planning of various aspects such as research scheme design, technical route determination, scientific experiment implementation, PPT presentation rehearsal, and questions & answers, Sun Yanyan and Ma Yongjing, graduate students under the guidance of Teacher Liu Ningning, and the student team under the guidance of teacher Zheng Xiaoqi, designed the entry "Identification of antifungal peptides from Intestinal Flora Based on deep Learning" (Team members: Sun Yanyan, Zeng Tongmin, Ma Yongjing, Wang Lu, Zou Yun), won the first prize of the national finals!

At present, simulation technology has been widely used in all walks of life, and can solve many complex problems and challenges. From aerospace to automobile manufacturing, from biomedicine to electronic data, simulation technology has penetrated into various fields, providing strong support for industrial upgrading and scientific and technological innovation. At the same time, simulation technology has also become one of the important directions of education and teaching reform, which provides a new way and idea for training high-quality talents. The competition team uses deep learning methods to identify antifungal peptides from the human intestinal flora in response to the emergence of new and sudden fungal infections and the spread of drug-resistant fungi, which affect people's lives and health.

The National Simulation Innovation Application Competition (SIAC), organized by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, is the highest level technical competition in the field of simulation technology innovation and application in China.  The competition aims to promote the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and economy develop, cultivate innovative talents, strengthen the country's independent scientific and technological innovation capacity, and help China achieve high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.
