Shanghai Cancer Institute

Shanghai Cancer Institute（SCI) was established in 1958, and merged with Renji Hospital in 2010. In 1985, SCI was approved to establish the State Key Laboratory of Oncogenes and Related Genes, which was restructured by the Ministry of Science and Technology and renamed as State Key Laboratory of Systems Medicine for cancer in 2023. The institute focuses on basic- and clinical-orientated innovative research in occurrence, development, metastasis and recurrence of malignant tumors, early diagnosis and treatment, and individualized therapy， aiming to improve the survival rates of cancer patients and explore novel strategies and technologies for early diagnosis, precision treatment.
